Why have we changed our name?
“Ward County Credit Union is so very proud of our heritage, the foundation on which we started will always be the same, but we want our name to reflect our membership and feel open to everyone who considers our credit union”
Our Mission Statement is as follows:
“Ward County Credit Union shall encourage thrift among members, create a source of credit at fair and reasonable rates, and provide our member/owners with opportunities to use and control their own money in order to improve their economic and social conditions.”
Since 1956, your credit union has been meeting the financial needs of employees of the Monahans, Grandfalls and Imperial Schools. Over the years, our schools AND our community have grown tremendously! In May 2005, the credit union was granted approval to grow our credit union as well. In addition to Ward County, we now reach out to those who live, work worship, or attend school in Brewster, Crane, Jeff Davis and Pecos Counties. However, we have found that our name has held us back from our desire to continue growing. Ward County Credit Union is so very proud of our heritage, the foundation on which we started will always be the same, but we want our name to reflect our current membership and feel open to everyone who considers our credit union!
Ward County Credit Union is governed by a board of directors elected from the membership, by the membership. Our financial cooperative system ensures that the widest range of services is available at the most competitive rates.
